I want to thank you for the kind comments. This really helped motivate me as I have hit a minor lull as I work on a more expanded version of this. The base game will still be the same but I am building a hexcrawl sandbox to stumble around in. The main changes to the base game are just “Boss” and “legendary” monsters and I am playing with a new idea for flukes. They won’t be tied to a one instead they will be tied to doubles. I describe them like this.

If an Action Roll comes up with doubles, a Fluke happens. It doesn’t change the result, but it's a chance to add a small fun and goofy twist to the story. It doesn't always have to be positive, its great to add negative twists to rolls that fail. Flukes are special in that they involve the entire table. Everyone gets a taste of GMing and throws out suggestions and ideas. Then the GM gets to decide what best fits the story or the situation.

a couple ideas I use as examples are

  • When you strike the guard their helmet turns completely around covering their eyes
  • Wait! nope, door wasn’t locked it was a pull not a push.
  • You tumble from the tree and land on another kobold.

I also plan on rolling in the mechanics for relics I added with the “wonderous items” zine I made. And those will add a lot more hijinxs for the kobolds to get into.

Did you have any issues?
