I think the hitboxes are a bit wacky; bumping a box that is clearly behind me with the top of my head isn't very intuitive.

Yeah, maybe we failed to take into account the third dimension. But maybe if the hitbox doesn't cover the whole character it would be even less intuitive, because you don't really know where it ends? This way at least you know that what you see is what you collide with. But maybe you're right, as I say, we didn't really take it into account. We'll keep it in mind for the next time >:)
