this update is mirky. I gonna give this game 5.5/10. My first complaint is that the movement is somewhat hindered. I can't ground pound multiple times in a row.  the collision physics are goofy too. If I get hit with a fireball, I get my ass handed to me.  before, a fireball hit would only make the player do a bump animation. I also dislike how every time I get hit with a shell, I get knocked on my ass instead of just shrinking and moving forward. Now, I the ''getting knocked on my ass" animation is justified with a hammer. I find that funny and reasonable. I still prefer the broken control system before. I do like what you did with the enemy shell move-set. I think in the future, there should be a move where you can kick the shell upwards.  maybe add the "tuck and super jump" move like in smb2 or the spin jump from wii and smw. 

My second complaint is when you lose all your lives, you lose all your stars and then there is a cheap chance at racking up a lot of stars. I find that just degrading. If I were to be out of the game, I would like to keep my stars to show my achievement of how far I made it in the game.  

I also dislike the propeller physics.

On the game settings, there should be an option to select a death match (the point of 99 stars means death match [most of the time]). I also missed how we could type in the specific number in the game settings boxes like 3:33 for time or 0:01 seconds to the game.  this is what made the game memorable, laughable, and aggravating.  

maybe a suggestion as for custom items is like having the ability to turn on and off any items you want in a match. I would like to have fun in a chaotic mega mushroom room. simple stuff like that.  or cops and robbers, everyone's mini until someone gets a fire flower and kills everyone.

Maybe add a tournament mode where people do a 1 v1 match or a group match against another team and the winners move on and the losers play with losers.  

maybe add a leader board to see who are the best players out there (if that doesn't offend you. It's probably risky. pick your poison.) 

Maybe add new characters to the roster instead of just Mario and Luigi. maybe have these characters become unlockables. maybe add Yoshi as either a rider or a character with a flutter jump. 

Maybe for a new level design, maybe recreate the Mario bros battle arena from the gameboy advance. I think that kind of level would fit in the same esthetic of this game.  maybe add bowser in that stage to mess up other players.  maybe add a chain chomp  level where there is a bunch of chain chomps and then there is a huge chain chomp like in Yoshi's Island. maybe add the crashing chain chomps too.  maybe add a level where it is full of spikes and make it look like something that is a cross between a "Jackass" stunt and a "Wipeout" course. or maybe that one level in the DS game in the first Bowser jr. castle where that secret room is at that is full of shifting tiles/ boulders that move back and forth. the sorry guy gets crushed. call it a "Tight Squeeze."

I like the new levels implemented, that is a fresh coat of paint.  I also like the new music added for the custom levels, they don't feel like a generic Mario  game. 

Even if all these other ideas don't get implemented, at least fix the move set so it's at least has that free, broken, chaotic nature that I remember playing with. Please.

I hear you the movement changes and knockdown animations do feel different and can be frustrating. Losing stars after dying does seem harsh, and I agree keeping stars as progress would be better. Your ideas for new moves, modes, and custom settings sound awesome and would definitely improve the game. The level and character suggestions are cool too. I’m not a dev, but I hope they see your feedback and consider making the game more like the chaotic, fun version we remember. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
