I will have less pressure working for the new update if I don't have Patreon and people will not have much problem if the update is delayed.. And in my opinion it makes you lazy at some point since you get constant cash flow for doing nothing. If the game was live service then it would have made sense to have a monthly subscription.

i'm intrested to know your plan if having a constant cash flow isn't your goal because i wouldn't mind the pressure if it means i will get like 10k a month or something :)

I agree about increased pressure with having a patreon, but its a balancing act, there's so much piracy that I feel like development for games like this needs to be on the subscription model for development, even if there is not a reward tier or gated content people would like to support either way. Plenty of devs pause subscription charges when they feel they had a bad month or two.
