Very early, hard to comment on anything meaningful.
Got to the blocked temple by mining randomly after getting some upgrades.

Progression is uninteresting, you need more than sell ore -> buy stat upgrades if you want the player to do more than just mine mindlessly until they're decked up.
If you want this to be an horror game I suggest having a truesight/line of sight system for enemies as well as the light around you to see ore. Need some enemies underground besides the temple spiders. Melee combat would also be more tense than having a bow if you're committed to horror, It's too easy to kite spiders backwards and spam arrows.
A "current depth" indicator would be useful.
Inventory doesn't update on sell only when you dig up a different block.

I thought that was trying to tell me something but as I write this I see that it's just the UI bleeding through. Put the start screen on a higher layer so that doesn't happen.
The writing is clunky.
