I read that the theme was not mandatory to follow so I chose not to really incorporate it directly into the art style of the game. I just felt that I couldn't actually make good enough "mystery" themed art with my limited artistic talent lol.
oh yes, can imagine! we had to leave our confort zone to make a game with the theme :D
