I know the developer is quite defensive of his business practise, but I just want to know how many updates have you done so far in this game? And had I subscribed to your subscription model and paid $8 for each update, how much would I have invested in your project so far out of interest? Have you actually considered a one-time payment option which might be better for people like me that just want to pay one time a more reasonable price for a game like $30 or something like that? I don't know. I'm sure this comes up a lot, I've seen questions asked a lot and developers often get a bit shirty, so I hope we take this in the spirit that is written that's just asking question and not meant to be confrontational.

Alone from itch io if everything was 8 USD like this release ( but im unsure i think some time it was 5) that would add to a total of 352 dollars or 44 times you had to buy. I understand why they have this buisness model, can keep financing your game,  but i also want to wait until the full release until i pump more money in it.

I appreciate how you asked this :D.

Yeah, if someone paid for every monthly build, it would definitely add up and be much higher than the retail value of the game. The idea isn’t that people need to grab every update -- It’s supporting the development when and if you feel like it. You get the latest build (which includes all previous H content) for that month’s support.  No pressure to stay subbed forever or purchase every dev release on itch.  Even I haven't stayed subbed to most H games I support for the entirety of their development span.

That said, we do plan to offer a standard one-time purchase when we hit Early Access. So if the monthly model doesn’t work for you, waiting for that version might be the better fit.

Appreciate you asking in good faith!

Problem is, some of us want to get every single update to be at the forefront of every release. And support the developer at the same time. It's kind of a bit of a hard one. If you're that way inclined. Call it the Pokémon effect.🤣

That has been my approach. I have gotten a few updates with 3-4 months in between so far. Either this one or the next one would be the re up.
