I got 6.55 seconds, moving is pretty easy if you just mash 123 when the circle is pointing in the direction you want to go. Definitely a unique interpretation of the theme! And I like the music!
Yeah, you understood it right. Adding pits/obstacles was my plan for expanding this idea, so it wouldn't be that easy to complete the level.
