Got 1:59! Absolutely stellar game, I really enjoy how the mechanics get introduced over time! The tentacles are very mean, lmao.
I really like how you have a mini hub-world instead of a menu, and the boosters are a really cool mechanic.
Overall, takes a really simple idea, and does a lot with it! Good work! <3
Have a few thoughts.
Having some kind of subtle warning that a tentacle is about to come out would be nice; Some kind of little dashed line flashing the path of the tentacle right before it comes out would make it feel a lot less frustrating.
They also tend to feel a little.. off to interact with. It feels weird that a soft, squishy tentacle launches out of the wall, and then you slam into it and stop dead like it's a solid wall. Obviously making them flexible would be very challenging to implement, and defeat the point; Maybe when you hit a tentacle, it should sorta knock you away from it, play some kind of hit sound, and give a little screenshake. Having a tentacle retract after you hit it until the next time it extends would also be an interesting change, and make them feel less like moving walls, and more like engaging threats.
Last thing is that their movement feels very stiff and weird. Having a speed curve, where they move fastest near their retracted position, and slowest near the extended position, might be nice.
