Simple, deliberately janky. Right when you think it's done, boom- leaderboard. I've never quite felt a drive to play again so absolutely after a game jam game. Very well done! My favorite part was the BOOM from adding on big buildings! (I also liked ur dev log, I liked the Invincible title sequence reference lol).

The loud rubble noises with the somber music ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ Radically succulent design choices here

I think a really cool feature to add are specialty items- Items that grant you bonus height at the end of your round (For example, grabbing the airplane and stacking that, as it's harder to grab a moving object).

(I take pride in the #3 score at the time of this writing hehe)

Thanks for a detailed review! And watching the devlog too! You know, sometimes you add those little things, and then wonder if anyone notices, so I'm glad someone got the Invincible reference.

As for the items- I thought about it, but in the end decided against it. I didn't want to make the game, so that for example you pretty much gotta go for the plane if you want the high score.

Then again- the easter egg is triggered, if you add the cop car, the ship, and the plane to the tower :)

Also- 3rd place is pretty good! Normally I'd say go on, and take the first, but those guys got some serious score!

The decision not to add bonus makes sense. I was about to settle for 6th, went back to play again (for like the third time) and got third after learning a strat lol.

I mean, the way I see it, you gotta go toy car -> table -> house for the big points :)

Agreed, past that I try to use the array of apartment complexes as opposed to the twin towers in the distance (more consistent and uniform shape allows for easier construction). Towers are good for finishing and creating a new "base" in case the stack is getting cluttered, at least in my experience

I see you have the tactics just right :)
