This was a game that hit far too close to home, and maybe I enjoyed it a lot too, because I particularly have a huge interest with the sea and ocean, but its the plot and psychology of the story that made me pause and realize that there are somethings that the mc is doing that I ended up doing as well in the past; the flashbacks in between the plot are memories that serve as an anchor who haunts the narrative of what their relationship used to be and how much the mc was slowly losing their passion in writing and ended up being replaced with guilt and fear, continuing to write not because of fun and interest like years ago where she had a deep passion for it and because morgan praised her for it that she felt more encouraged than ever, but because "It's her job". The husband's role there is to remind mc why they started writing in the first place; yet mc felt threatened because deep down mc knew their passion wasn't the feeling that was making their hands write, but the negativity, guilt, and fear that mc had been secretly carrying. MC had lost their pure love for writing along the way because of that conversation Morgan had with his "friends," and another reason is the pressure that had built up from MC's first released book. Writing wasn't fun anymore; it was a means for money and to keep Morgan with Mc, even if he would stay either way because he married Mc for love.
I'd also like to point out how mature morgan was in the lighthouse, I don't think he's a bad person/husband because of the things he had said, it's more on the fact that he had watched and stayed for the longest time to see the mc succumb to grief, he's not asking them to delete the memories of their family, but let go of the heavy feeling mc insistingly clinged on, because deep down those memories weren't keeping her families memories anymore, but it became an anchor that kept pulling them down; and he just wanted mc to realize it. (Both sides' feelings are valid and have a reason for why they feel it! I also understand this Morgan isn't really our husband, but still)
This is a really great game! And I'd like to call it a hidden gem, it takes a lot to realize what the story is actually about, and I love how open it is to the point that you can understand it anyway you like, and any opinions on the husband would be valid according to the choices, and it would still make sense. I also like how Morgan stayed true to himself on one of the flashbacks (where he still continued creating not for money but his own talent and love for art. which used to be how mc was, but got lost in the way, and struggled to find her way back.) (okay ill shut up ԅ(¯﹃¯ԅ)
I love this game. Thank you for creating a masterpiece!! and I hope to see more of this game

OHHH gosh, thank you so much for your thoughtful analysis, it was really interesting to read! (And I'm sorry for the late reply, I had a lot of things happening in my personal life recently 💦)
Your interpretation of the MC - that shift from passion to obligation, the role guilt played in their writing - is really perceptive, I honestly have no comments - I couldn't have put it better myself. (And I'm touched that you were able to recognize parts of yourself in them!)
I've had a pretty wide variety of reactions to the lighthouse scene! Even my beta testers were pretty split on the topic, with some agreeing with Morgan, some heavily disagreeing, and some partially agreeing but thinking he could have handled it better 😂 I think your take on the situation is a very good one, and the anchor metaphor? I couldn't have put it better myself - at some point these memories that brought the MC comfort started pulling them down.
AND OHH thank you so much 🥺 with this game I really wanted to tell a story about a crumbling marriage where neither party is abusive or "in the wrong," and both people still love each other a lot, which makes it even more frustrating that it's not working 😂 I'm glad that I managed to convey the nuances well.
(gosh never shut up, I really loved reading this!!!)
Thank you again for taking the time to play and leave your thoughts 🥰 Comments like this really make my day! I hope that you enjoy the rest of the story!
