Something weird happening for me... Damage inflicted each turn corresponding with cards on the board, even before making contact with enemy base.

Hmm seems strange to me. Also no challenge... no point in having different abilities when playing almost anything in any order will win.

That's not entirely true, because you loose your cards permanently, so if you send half of your troops into a spiked pit you could be in trouble later on. There is actually a tactical element to causing as much damage as possible before reaching the fortifications, but the game is so easy you might complete it without noticing.
