You need to do the tf quest line in the desert in the south. The tf form you unlock there gives you heat resistance, allowing you to enter.
so im guessing I have to figure out the cooling thing with heat
I assume you refer to the heat dmg you take in the desert?If so yes, depending on your clothes you different amounts on dmg.With a large enough hp pool and healing items you also could brute force your way throgh.
