You really focused in on the limitation (and the theme) here, with the sort of endless loss of resources. It kind of feels like you lose net resources no matter what?.. Some options seem to be better than others though. I'm pretty sure I've had swings that were at least fair. Maybe some of it's percentage based? In any case, it's an interesting system, and the little story beats are fun.
The rapid play sections really dominate the game though. It seems like making a choice doesn't stop the timer? Rather the timer finishes when the animation switches or something?.. Anyway that's the impression I had... Playing thoughtfully, I could sometimes get to day two, maybe day 3. Spamming okay to avoid the rapid choices destroying my resources generally worked better, getting as far as day four.
I notice there's some light music in the background, but not really in focus, it has like a radio station playing in the background feel, which is kind of cool if that's what you're going for. It was also cool the way the image of the earth in your computer screen changes when you lose, although I'm pretty sure I cheesed it once by fixing the imbalance and hitting the next day before the game over message triggered.
Fun concept.
