I released an updated version of 5.12.24 a few hours ago so it should be fixed. Try downloading it and continuing.
Thank you for showing me the error. I'll try and fix it.
Edit: Ok that's really weird. I'm not sure why it's doing that. It could be that when you use an old save file and try to play an updated version that causes bugs?
I had a look at the error and it seems to be that a variable wasn't initialised which is really weird because it was initialised.
I'm updating it again and let's see if the bug continues.
Edit2: Can you show some video footage of the bug happening?
Sorry I have no idea why that's happening. I'll keep looking at it but I don't know what's going on. I initialised all the variables in both 'obj_maptile_tile' and in the script 'map_sprites()' so I don't know.
According to online resources the DoAdd error is either not initialising variables before using them, or it's trying to add incompatible data types e.g. combine string ("words") with a number.
Afaik my code isn't doing either, so idk.
Yeah that makes sense. that's why i restarted the game and beat it quicker.
I liked the game imo but it is still undercooked atm. good video games usually dont have extremely fast pacing and usually respect the player's reaction. I'm personally just good at it, have all the metroid skills in my subconscious. The final boss was a joke though. I thought he was hard at first until I figured it out I have the dash that damages him. He was super easy after that. I had to just dash through him. I have a bit of feedback on the XGA boss for the final version.
try make the arena bigger so it doesn't look like you are fighting him in a small confinement. Maybe introduce new attacks along the way so it feels like you are fighting an actual boss, not just a patrolling alien creature. it will feel underwhelming and anticlimactic.
btw do I have to pay for the Special Edition if I already have the game?
I'd love to know what other areas you felt the game was undercooked. Do you mean the bugs in general?
I'll make the arena bigger. Though the point of the easy fight was to turn the tables on XGA and now make the player the unstoppable monster instead.
The special edition would have a much better endgame section and ending. It would be roughly $5.
Yeah I meant the bugs in general. are you a first time developer by any chance? cuz that probably explains why.
Yeah I see what you mean but I don't think many people will like that idea in an action game (maybe it's just me I don't want to ruin your game). Maybe you can make the true final boss feel more climactic than the XGA fight because it's a follow up to defeating the Bio-corp for once and for all.
But I mean do I have to pay for the game again if I already have the game in my library?
