I don't think that it needs to be so. I mean I saw multiple games using methodology of demo and full version. Demo was free version and paid version well was newest version.
Also you can sell files based on price so it would still count for everybody that paid needed amount. I'm surprised you did menage to split them in some way .
And no thanks I was hoping that by buying this I will get all future releases and it seems to not be truth.
