The overall theme I had in mind was consumerism and how easily you can get convinced into buying something you don’t want. The protagonist didn’t want to buy the elixir, but in the end took the deal anyway. After taking it, he convinces himself that he wanted it all along, even though he didn’t. (What exactly the wolf got out of it is irrelevant to the story)

It doesn’t relate much to light in the dark. I guess neon lights kinda symbolize the seductive glow of consumerism :3
