How many times do we say this? Thank God for indie development.

Being a fan of Northbury Grove, I’m excited for anything Scythe makes, just to see what they’ll do next, and what new things I’ll learn about their universe. But this game honestly surprised me. What I thought was going to be a relatively simple fast food simulator turns out to be so much more. Who’d have thought you could throw horror elements into this style of game? And the thing is, it works. And it makes sense.

Already being a big fan of John’s music, I was looking forward to the new tunes, and I wasn’t disappointed. Scythe understands mood, atmosphere and world-building, and in my opinion, the music has always been a critical part of bringing the world to life.

I don’t want to say too much, but if you’re a fan of Northbury Grove’s world, you’ll feel right at home; and yet, it’s different. You’ll know what I mean when you start playing. It’s scary, it’s hilarious, it’s fun to play, the tunes are rockin’ and it’s yet another fresh take on horror that makes the genre interesting again. For an experimental project, I personally think this experience is a big win.

I missed a few details my first time through, so Ima go back and see what all I can find. Try this: I think you’ll dig it.👍🏻
