In general, I'd say it's good advice to keep accessibility in mind. Whether as part of the jam or later down the line, someone might be very thankful they can also enjoy your game. How about giving the player an option to deactivate or skip that particular part? If it's important for the game, using additional sound cues or high contrast colors (default or again, as an option for players) might help as well.
