Hello! Thanks for your interest. I made this game as part of my masters degree and it was my first time creating an alt controller. The controller itself is an upside down water tank from Bunnings. I then (using a hand-crank drill) cut a hole through it and inserted some PVC pipe that I had lined with rubber. The controls within are simply 4 spidnly metal switches that your fingers rest against with an upward palm, such that when you curl your fingers in real life they'd curl in the game. I used an Arduino Uno and it's a relatively simple set-up but it's much more about the discomfort of not being able to see where you're putting your arm.
