The artist ended the visual identity created in Adastra and Interea, for the simple reason he wanted to.
This sounds ridiculous, the visual novel is not his entirely personal work for this decision to be ok, he is just the artist paid for it, now the art has just turned into a generic Bara, and some CGs were horrible, if I hadn't seen the original I wouldn't even have understood what that was supposed to be.
I had loved the visual upgrade that Khemia had in relation to Adastra, after what happened with Smoke Room in the final stretch of the project, + this abrupt change in Khemia's look, without a decent explanation other than "I'm sad to draw in this style, so I'm going to change it!" made me very unhappy with Echo Project in general, years waiting for updates for something that simply made me completely lose interest in the project. And no, it's not just that Bara has become generic, Adastra's cartoon art can also be considered generic, but it took two games to create an artistic style for such a sudden change to be made.
But it took two games to create an artistic style for such a sudden change to be made. If it were a completely new visual novel with no connection to Adastra, I wouldn't have any problem with the look, but they simply changed the entire look of the universe that I was attached to. Almost everything, the blatantly ugly scenarios remain, what a shame. They changed what was good to something bad, and what could be improved remains the same ugly.
In the end, that's my opinion. T:
