Even when disabled, the framerate is still pretty low for a 2D action game.

Alright, thanks for letting me know, I updated the disable effects function to also disable the background bloom and some other objects with individual effects. Not sure if that would fix your issue, but just in case...

This tripled the framerate. Good call.
Whenever testing a game that's meant for web, always use the network preview, as it'll more accurately simulate what your players will experience.
