Love the light effect, the wall jumps are snappy and responsive so that's good ! The coyote time and jump buffer are perfect too, I'd say the movements could use less inertia, I find the change of direction pretty hard like having soap under the feet but I reckon it could be a wanted effect, you'll just have to build your levels with it in mind.
I'd may leave more control when you are in the air, and I think putting "w" for jump as well as space bar could be a good idea, some people like one or the other, leaving both open is a safe choice IMO.
But you have a very good base for a platformer, honestly as it is, it could be anygame you'd like it to be, I don't have any idea to give right now, sorry !
