This was really neat! I love the idea of using the microphone to capture sound effects from the player. That said, in Chrome on Linux the recordings weren’t the best. Sometimes it didn’t seem to pick it up and when I did get them they seemed sped up. Maybe some kind of sample rate issue?

I also got stuck on an edge in the cave, and couldn’t figure out how to respawn, so I just bailed out.

Regardless, really neat concept, nice job!

Thanks for checking it out and enjoying it :)

Yeah I've noticed the playback can sometimes be screwey.  There's clearly some elements of recording sounds in Godot that I haven't yet been able to fully grasp.  For example there's two types of AudioBus Effects for recording from the microphone, the documentation doesn't really cover the differences between the two, but one works in html and the other doesn't.  Other Bus Effects don't work depending on filetype either.  I'd like to of cleared out all the bugs like that but we live and learn.

Future me will know what to mess with when I make Clef's Quest 2 in some future jam :P

Gotcha, that make sense. The audio bus stuff is cool, and very flexible, but a lot of it is definitely not documented well at this point. I also get the feeling that many of the effects were chosen/designed to fit some more specific purpose and don’t always work well in the general case as you might expect from similar features in other audio software.

Regardless, kudos for giving challenging yourself and making something unique!
