I'm going to gm my first cairn game soon with feathers and have small question, should I still use full cairn wilderness rules or just the 2in6 random encounter rule from the module?

Great question! The module was written long before the second edition procedures were published, but off the top of my head: If you switch the "days" of travel on the map for "watches", and then apply the 2nd Edition wilderness procedure it should work pretty well - you'll have a slightly lower chance to encounter something from the encounter table, but that's balanced against things like weather, the exhaustion result and potentially the chance of getting lost if you want to use that (I would avoid overusing that one, but it's a fun way to surprise them if e.g. they flee from an encounter and are distracted). You could also tie the "3. Environment" result to sometimes be an advance by a rival team of Feather Hunters.

It went great, my coworkers (some rpg first timers had a blast) loved the module and cairn itself 😃
