Hi!
Once you kill all Lava Lurkers, you get a message to return to the Gatekeeper and finish that quest. What kind of loop are you referring to?
level 2. I have managed to clear all slimes in level 1. got the better weapon. And then proceeded to call slimes and lava lurkers in level 2. Yet I cant turn the portals on without I am assuming the female boss quest being complete. Despite the fact I have killed 3 lurkers. I repeated from a previous old save and still same problem. So stuck in a loop where I can advanced. There is one creature on a central island beside a portal but I am assuming you cant turn the portal on till you kill the 3. Hence the loop.

Regarding your report:
The Gatekeeper's quest requires you to kill not three but ALL lava lurkers; once you do that, you get the on-screen message to return and finish the quest.
Even if you kill all lava lurkers BEFORE talking to the Gatekeeper, you'll still get all interactions with her, and after receiving her quest, just talk to her again, and the quest will be complete. You'll get another task from the Gatekeeper after that, and it'll take you to a new map. Hope this helps!
