I recon it adds to the line. Not all maps need to be fast and smooth. Often good maps have pieces blocking the fastest route to create more variance.
i agree with both of you but in this situation henry makes a much better point
ok.... its there because if its not you go flying into the red tree and it incurages braking... sooo it was intentional.
