I honestly still don't get why you really need to throw that "0/5" part, are you saying that Nacho doesn't deserve money at all because he removed the itch.io version and "force" people to buy the remake? Because if that's what you mean then i think you have to understand what he already stated, he said that he removed the itch.io version to avoid confusion for new players after he released the remake version and itch.io still accessible for early buyers only. Besides, he eventually gave the Steam version in here as well and created "One Jump Closer" for free but i don't get why people still complaining this stuff again, if he never apologize and never explain anything then your point is valid, but he already did everything he could and there's no need to keep assuming bad intentions or saying things that demotivate him. If you just put "1/5" in your comment without throwing that "0/5" then i wouldn't mind, people will think you're just giving honest rating if you also put your reasonings in the first place.
I get that you're disappointed, but if you were an indie dev who's mainly working alone, hoping you will be successful with your games but you got your games pirated by some people, insults and harassment even after you tried to apologize and fix everything like what he did, i hope you'll understand that too.
Did I try to apologize, though? I’m sticking to my opinion, a dev that nukes a work because a remake is available deserves no money, be the dev big or small, and that still includes Nacho Sama. If you couldn’t tell, I just explained my reasoning, and afaik, reasoning is different than apologizing.
Anyways, don’t think this is going anywhere. You seem fine with such culture, and I’m not, so I’ll just walk away and block the dev anywhere I see, starting by some ublock origin filters here on Itchio since the site still lacks a native function. Peace out.
I'm sorry but did i even ask you to apologize? I was talking if you're in Nacho's position and still getting that kind of discouraging comments even after he tried to apologize and fixed everything, maybe you'll finally understand his situation too. You can have opinion, but that "0/5" is honestly so unnecessary if you're trying to be honest with your rating, but well if you don't want to deal with this anymore, that’s your choice then. Peace out.
I understand both sides of the situation, but I believe bringing up pirating is irrelevant for this argument. To further specify, I don't think this should be considered a primary reason since the creator of the game didn't directly state it was a reason for the swap (at least in the proof you provided). On top of this, although switching to steam made it more difficult to pirate, pirating is still very possible for steam games
I don't put piracy as the primary reason for this argument, but that's one of reasons why people should understand what he's been through when the whole backlash happened a few months ago. When i came here, Nacho himself replied to me that he was disappointed because people disrespected him and demanded more stuff from him while he already gave free updates for itch.io version and he also stated that his game was stolen multiple times. Sure he made mistakes, but he deserve to feel disappointed too and no one should disrespect him that much when he already apologized and eventually gave the Steam version in here as well. No devs want their work to get pirated so it's one of valid reason if they want to try moving their games to another platform with stronger security because even if Steam games can still be pirated, it is way more difficult than just simply copying the direct files like Itch.io version.
