Great game I loved how nice it looks and the whole atmosphere is quite soothing!

Important Notice!! I had to play the game several times before actually knowing that you cannot finish the game if your main monitor is above 60Hz. That means, if the game runs over 60FPS it starts to bug out! I only noticed few people in the comments also encountering this problem.

Examples:

#1. In main menu if you click Settings button the game also registers the click of Return button since the action of clicking is done by holding down the mouse click (instead of mouse click being released).

#2. Same issue as above, if you try to go inside/outside the delivery place, you may sometimes teleport in the same place instead of opposite. Once again, the mouse click registers both going outside and inside so it teleports randomly.

#3. At the ending scene/stranger's home, when you try to go inside his room, the player's camera gets teleported outside (models vanished) OR inside the stranger's room but in the wrong spot (I got teleported on the kitchen table).

These problems will get encountered by players that use monitors with more than 60HZ (like 144Hz) and leave VSYNC OFF.

How to Fix?:

#1. You either have to change your monitor's refresh rate to 60Hz (from windows display options) + VSYNC ON in game.

#2. Or limit the FPS of the game in Nvidia Settings to 60FPS  + VSYNC ON in game.

I used the first method just to make sure.

If you want to see the bugs in action I can send you a video via email to understand it better.

Regardless of those I love the game! I'm wishing you all the best in making more! 🥰 Thank You!

Thanks for the detailed analysis. I have a 144Hz monitor and everything works fine though, but I've seen that sometimes there is a chance for bugs. It might be completely random, but I'm not sure.

Yeah I am not sure what's going on, but since I changed to 60Hz on my monitor (so it caps) and game's VSYNC ON (so the game will never get past 60FPS) - everything went smooth without ANY bugs no matter how many times I played. The moment I changed back to 144Hz and VSYNC OFF (so game can go past 144FPS) - I noticed the bugs coming back right off the start.

The most frustrating part was the ending. You don't get teleported inside the stranger's room, you're still outside talking to no one, the dialog still continues. When you're asked to grab the pen nothing happens, you're softlocked and you cannot do anything besides restarting the whole game once again.

If the actions are based on the animations' last frames (like the fade out) - that might be an issue. The GPU and/or the higher the FPS of the game (monitor >60Hz and VSYNC OFF), the more chances it may jump over just one singular frame of the game, that's all it takes for the game to not register that ending.

My idea would be check the player's camera position (XYZ) at the end to see where does it actually land on - even though it might go inside the room, something has to interfere with it and teleport it right back outside in a split second.

That's my take on it, hopefully it helps you in a way or another and figure what's the actual issue behind it. Wishing you all the best!! ❤️

Can you please write to the email in the profile? I will make a new build, and also show how to skip to the end in 1 minute for quick testing, thank you.

Hey, sorry I couldn't write in time. I see you've already updated the game so I'm not sure if sending you the video with bugs from the old version is useful anymore 🙃

I did play the updated version and everything seems to be good now! I finished the game without encountering the issues I've mentioned previously. I tested the menu buttons and the delivery place (going in and out) and all is good! The ending was also triggered right off the bat with no weird teleportation problems.

Glad to see it fixed now and I'm looking forward more games! Best of luck! ❤️

I would have never found out that 60 fps cap fixes the most critical bugs. I was on the point of hiding the game because such a failure near the end is really frustrating. Thanks again for the help.

Hey no problem! I'm happy you finally sorted it out and it runs smoothly now! And don't worry about it, it's a good thing you posted the game on itch io and so many people play it as they can point out if anything is unusual about it. Regardless of how many times you tested it as a developer, you may never know what a player would randomly do in your game that you would never think of; think outside the box. Many bugs arrise even on triple A games much later after the release date, so you can never know. Keep doing your best and you'll improve day by day. Best of luck! ❤️
