Great game I had fun playing it!
If I were to say something is that the game's overall volume is a bit low, on video I increased it. Also the monster was a bit hard to hide from given the rooms spaces are narrow and he runs twice as fast. Thankfully his health stays the same and the items you collect are with you even if he gets you.
Other than that, loved it! Keep it up! 😊
Amazing game! Loved the whole vibe of it! 🤗
Some quick notes below (SPOILERS):
I managed to get all endings in my video and I must say it was quite the hassle given I was trying to find the last ending in your previous build 😵💫 Nevertheless my curiosity kept me going so when I finally got it from the updated version I was at peace lol
I am not sure why but it seems like in the previous build I got the Mirror Ending (5 days YES - 5 nights NO) but when I tried to get it on this latest build I was given the "Back Again" ending instead. I speedran it again regardless of being night (5 yes/5 no) and I still got the "Back Again" ending. I closed the game, deleted the regedit files and tried again and I've got it finally the Mirror Ending. These 2 endings seem to be interchangable for some reason, I am not sure what the exact mechanism is behind it but in my case I found it hard to get a specific ending regardless of writing down what I do each day; I was scared to even read a note so I don't mess up lol
Regardless, Thank You so much for this game I truly loved it! Wishing you all the best! ❤️
Cool game I liked it! 😊
I feel like I have to mention you about this weird thing I've found: (2:53 in video) - I thought this was for the horror immersion or some sort of different ending but I assume there is some sort of problem within the text code that makes it scramble itself and add new characters I have no clue but it's surely spooky lol
You can trigger this by spamming the interact button "E". This also applies to the notes within the graveyard area.
Thank You! ❤️
Wow what an amazing game! Really well made, I liked the whole vibe of it! I'm glad I played it again for the other ending! There's more to this for sure and it left me confused.
One thing I would say that was a bit frustrating was the lack of a direction/map. There has been countless times that I was just circling around the same area without really a sense of direction, enemies kept spawning and flipping your car around and the flashlight giving out, going back on the road was a hassle afterwards.
I assume this is intended within the game but a small map wouldn't hurt (maybe only on easy/normal difficulty, even then give an option if the player actually wants to toggle it on), maybe don't show all the roads BUT only the one you already took behind you, or make it harder by fading out the pathway you took slowly. Maybe I'm just bad at directions but I'm sure there's more people that might feel the same way.
The game gets addicting but this kindof takes away the magic; There has to be a middle ground to this issue which I am wishing you all the best in figuring it out. I think making a very minimal UI small (even just white lines) map which shows the road you already took which slowly fades away might be it IMO, all up to you in the end.
Regardless, I am wishing you all the best with the game and I'm excited to see it in full! Thank You! ❤️
Cool game I liked the style and the idea! My only 'issue' was getting stuck at the very last step of every ladder. It was tricky to climb up without being in just the right spot because the hitbox of the stairs was making it difficult. I later discovered that you can climb easier and faster by walking to the top-right corner of a step instead of the center. Anyways, thank you for the game and best of luck with more projects! 🥰
I think you got the slider working fine, but I am sure there's some conflicting code that resets it back (maybe when you straight alt-f4, maybe when you go to a different room etc. or the x position of the slider changes back because the player's got a different resolution on the monitor - you gotta think outside the box - there's tons of stuff players can do which will always reveal some 'bugs', hence it's great you release it now and people can report if they encounter it and how they did.
If you really find coding the slider hard then you can just make a small change to it, instead of being a slider (you can still draw it as a slider) make some big dots along the line like (O-O-O-O) each dot represents volume percentage (0-25%-50%-100%) just keep it simple like that, just a click of one dot and it changes the volume. Anyways sorry for the big walls of text, hopefully you can get something out of it 🥰 Keep up the good work!
No problem! I've had some sound problems myself in videos like crackling and pops - it's very frustrating dealing with audio it seems like the problem is always hiding behind several layers of random things you may never think of. IMO controlling the sound is actually useful; I've noticed when someone encounters a small inconvenience regarding a game (take the sound slider) - they want to get it fixed on the SPOT; yes you can just press windows key and slide the audio mixer, but people might think alt tabbing breaks games (and it does with some I can't lie) so they'd rather hit esc quit and have the volume right in their face boom problem fixed 3 buttons - esc click volume esc again to resume.
Really enjoyed the whole aesthetic of the game! I got it done in 20min - Not sure if this was a demo, maybe the player goes back into the house during midnight later on? There's a lot of ideas you can work with 👍
I have to mention that I initially thought the game had no sound till I pressed ESC and put the slider all the way up; the slider also once again went all the way down at a random time when I was exploring the cave, so I put it back up again, not sure what triggered it, maybe some spike lags, although I've experienced those in Unity games before. Best of luck! ❤️
