Hello. This is my first game jam.

I'm using Python so my game is text based (you're gonna need to use your imagination as I can't do ASCII art). Does this count as meeting the limitations of two colours and will this affect my ranking because of the audio-visual and adherence to limitation? Although there is only two of us competing at the time I write this, I don't want to end up losing due to my limited coding knowledge. When I say Python i mean straight up text only, no tkinter/pygame visuals. Just straight up text.

Yes, that's absolutely fine. As I said, the theme and limitation are open to interpretation. One colour of text on a different coloured background most definitely counts as being two colours!

As for the lack of visuals, I think as long as you don't use a really awful colour combination, you should be fine. I will definitely take it into account when calculating your overall score, and will not penalise you for your game being text based. I got started in game dev making text based puzzle games, so if you can make it work, I look forward to seeing your entry!

Best of luck!

Thank you very much!

FYI there are online ASCII art generators, you give them an image and it generates ASCII art for you.
