Great emotional journey with the chord progressions! I really felt that loneliness tingling!
Footsteps in the snow are a good touch, but I think they should be further down in the mix, with some reverb for placement.
Overall, the rhythms of everything interacting, i.e the piano and synth layers, was just a bit distracting.
I felt the cohesion of the piece was riveting though. And I think tonal palette wise, you nailed it!
