Hello, friend. I apologize for my late reply, I got an email about it and read it and meant to reply but then I forgor to and I only saw this again 'cause I logged into my itch.io acct for an unrelated reason.

The "Treasure" in neotreasurecore is in reference to the now largely defunct but not technically dead Japanese videogame developer, Treasure Co., Ltd., developers of such classics as Gunstar Heroes, Sin and Punishment, Ikaruga, Radiant Silvergun, Bangai-O, and at least like a handful of others (like Mischief Makers, Guardian Heroes, and Alien Soldier).

A friend on a forum I frequent linked this game, and myself and some other friends who played it agreed that its cool movement and twitchy action and surreal weird guys made out of like polygonal shapes doing weird movements was very reminiscent of some of Treasure's best games.

In any case it was definitely meant as a compliment.

the very odd boss action is reminiscent of Wario World and Stretch Panic right? it's definitely a vibe

I realized shortly after posting my comment that you must be talking about a genre concept based on Treasure the developer and not a game called Neotreasurecore that happened to have the same camera mechanics that this game landed on. Probably should have deleted my question at that point, oops, but thanks for the answer.
Your friend is right though this does very much feel like a Treasure game if those guys were still around and also saturated with zoomer culture.
