for future reference, idk what youre using, but winrar and 7zip both have a feature to remove redundant folders while extracting, so using "Extract to folder..." should always result in a consistent "folder -> files" structure, instead of "folder -> folder -> files" or "files loosely"

whatever kde plasma is using by default also reportedly does that? so if youre on loonix, it should be ok as well

if its not on by default (for some godforsaken reason), it shouldnt be too hard to find the config or something and just flip it over
should solve your issue for good

im just using windows built in "extract all". i uninstalled 7zip cos it was not unzipping files, freezing at randoms points during the unzip process of large files.

that's the problem lol.

does it not have an 'extract to folder..' option?
its very much 'it works on my pc' but ive never had an issue with 7zip, so i dont know if its  your hardware, the files themselves, a bad version or just bad luck. winrar still exists, and peazip is the only other alternative i am aware of.

the 7zip conflict issue is a widespread problem, you can google about it
