Thank you for your comment! The lead up in the romance sector becomes more clear in the next build. It is meant to be abrupt in some regards, but if you read through build two and one, the tones were always there, I just tried very hard to mask and hide them as a cultural difference between the MC and Kai. I mean, how many of your straight friends with be that keen to help you take a shower, or cuddle on your bed, or do any of the things that Kai did? The premise in my mind about the romance build up is that Kai was ALWAYS trying to show and give hints, but we were the ones not picking up on them... and we we're dropping clues and hints to Kai, and we assumed that HE wasn't picking up on them either. This all culminates in the ending scene where this comes to fruition and they confess to each other, when we learn that Kai isn't nearly as dumb as we think he is, and that he was getting the hints the whole time, and was (awkwardly) trying to reciprocate them. In the bathroom scene Eco literally confesses that he has feelings for Kai that go beyond friendship. That's what the bathroom scene is. It's the nightmare that Kai knows everything about what you want, and that you won't be able to run from your feelings... and if you try... well... it will swallow you alive :)
