I think the melodies of PT. 1 are very pretty! I enjoy the rhythmic stabs in PT. 2 as well. Personally, I think finding interesting rhythms for my harmonies can be one of the hardest parts of writing a song. There is a great moment at about 2:05 in PT. 2 where the harmony starts holding out longer notes, which is a wonderful contrast to all of the more articulate harmonic hits for the earlier section of the piece.
