That seems more like a problem with the save, rather than 0.8.2, cause 0.8.2 can seamlessly load a 0.8.1 save without issue. You should have tried loading it up on 0.8.1 to put the items in the mailbox, then going back to 0.8.2
yeah i thought about that afterwards but its to late now. its still strange because last time i did the transfer of my stuff, it went smoothly. so i don't know what was different this time
