It seems you care more about your fanbase than their computers... but without their computers where are your fans?  I have watched Itch games execute and completely disarm systems so that any data can be accessed and uploaded to foreign servers.  This is bad enough, but I have also seen downloaded Itch games just foul and destroy computers, because someone or team thinks that is fun to do.  Even with protections in place, naive users run some .exe and it overrides all security measures leaving their system vulnerable and completely open to attack, and the user doesn't even know what has happened.  Similar activity takes place at Game Jolt and many other game sites that are presumed safe by users, but they are completely unsafe and programs are there waiting to be downloaded and run that will exploit, foul or destroy a system in seconds.  Pretending that it can't and doesn't happen is just perpetuating a false sense of security.  Users need to be aware that they must completely protect themselves and always be prepared for the worst by having a full and recent system backup.  Trust no file, especially game files.

For the 100th time, DO NOT WORRY, THERE IS NO VIRUS, your pc is safe, sorry for your concern and facr that you experienced issues, thank you for commenting and wish you all the best!
