You don't have to. That signals the end of the content for this patch. ALL UPDATES ARE COMPLETRLY FREE
If you want it right this minute, sure. Like so many other VN authors here, the Patreon stuff is early access - that means you'll get it for free eventually. (Or, to look at it another way, you can pay in either patience or money.)
