Posting here and in the jam forum to give lil updates/drum up excitement for my entry! I myself will be doing this solo!

Scope:

• -2 battles
• -Custom tileset/sprites/attack images
• -Unique Tactics Combat
• -Horror Chess Aesthetic
• -16 bit horror soundtrack

Per the FAQ we were allowed to do concept art so long as it wasn't then used as is for the jam, so here's some concept art!!

LETS JAM!!!!

Today is going good! Got the base project file with the plugins all setup with no errors!! Starting on the tileset, just a bit torn on using middle or the bottom image. I want a checkerboard base before I draw all the details. 

I officially have art for the pawn characters!! Getting to draw in this style is so fun. Now to do more characters and the sprites!

Slowly but surely getting these tiles done! Credit to avery for the base chess pieces I edited!

Went more with 'priest/healer' vibes for the bishop!

Was torn on how to include the queen before it came to me!! An auto unit with a high def/attack. So what works to represent that? A chained angel. A reluctant queen. I used 'see no evil speak no evil' as inspiration!

Thanks to some feedback we now have a helpful information/instructions for those unused to tactics games! Some additional cutscenes/story elements were also added!
