welp made it through the current playthrough! Got to say I don't know whether or not to be annoyed or grateful that this game hadn't made it to my radar until now. ( the wait for the updates would have driven me crazy and already are.)
now for my posted review as a few others might have seen me do on a few other games.
1. The story. Things seem rather simple at first but you will quickly find depth and development of all the characters. i give it about a 8 out of 10 on the crafting of the personalities for each of the characters. You'll find both silliness and depth alike depending on what's needed for the scene.
2. Character models. As a whole the characters are beautiful. It may not be my favorite style to render images for visual novels however for this style and the program used I would call it top tier.
3. Scenery. Honestly it was a little hard to notice that first since I quickly got in the habit of just using the map to click around everywhere but the backgrounds are modeled beautifully and help make the ship come alive more. It is definitely worth it to take the time and click around at everything and ignore the map once or twice.
4. Combat. Frankly I found it rather fun but I grew up on old school turn based games. I actually would love to see the space combat be a somewhat regular occurrence for the story. I think it would be also a great idea to add some upgrades to Your Arsenal or new ships to construct that don't just pop up in the story. Things that you could stumble upon by accident. You know secret bonus ships to summon to Aid you or rare materials to find that give the ship a boost.
5. sex... well what can I say this is an adult visual novel and whether the characters have their clothes on or off they are beautiful and the scenes are pretty sexy when you get to them. Personal preference but I'm not a fan of the MC having a death stick that would send a woman to the hospital but I've seen worse so this one gets a pass.
Final conclusion but mostly a message to the dev. Keep going and trust your instincts. Most if not all of my top 10 personal favorites have the same thing in common. They are anywhere from 75% to 90% story with the rest lewd. You've got a real talent for storytelling and building lore so just keep focusing on that. Don't worry you'll find places to keep things sexy when they're needed.
side note but something should happen that lets the MC get a bump up in their rank. He's confident intelligent and a ace shot. With everything going on and those qualities in mind he can't stay a private forever.
