What made me upset, was them saying that 'we hope the gender doesn't ruin the game for you!' And I just replied to that. Again, you wouldn't understand, as you're not the same gender and have a lack of any romance games that you can play. they should've just said 'this game only has a female protagonist' instead of the rest. I was just replying to the creator, in a way. Complaining should be included in a game review, no? I guess I'm just being petty, I realize that.

Not the same words, and obviously not the intention you are making it seem by quoting it in that strange way.
We will, though, apologize if that's how you understood our explanation. As we explained a few comments below to another player (who voiced your same concern about the gender selection, but in a very much polite way, if we are being honest): "we understand, we also relate more with females for the same reason! We would love to create another game with a male character, but we would probably find it difficult to write a story from a male point of view because we are both women 😣 But who knows! We will consider all this when Text Your Life is finished! 😊".
