This was so very enjoyable. There are so many things I could gush about, that this comment could be the equal of Das Kapital. But I absolutely must go over a few of my favorites.
The Characters are amazing, of course quality characters are the quickest way to my heart. Everybody has there own distinct personalities and unique relationship with the MC. I love to see their interactions with them, or in my case her. Her fathers are delightful, and I could really feel the love they had for her, and it was easy for me to see the love she has for them. Their dynamic as a family is cheerful and familiar without being tropy. I honestly can't wait to get back and introduce them to all my new friends. One of the things that really hit me with them is how they reacted to the MCs episodes caused by the cursed. It just felt so real. As a child I had some serious illness, so that hit me and hit me hard with how I just kind of knew everything they were going through because I had seen it in my real life.
The Twinflowers are so lovable, especially Lakota. My characters are never hetro women and rarely bi or pan. Yet I couldn't help want him to be a LI. Though I did get the satisfaction of playing out that my MC and Lakota both had a crush on Willow, but she was more secretive about it because she was so unsure about forming more intimate bonds. It also hit me hard as him starting a family of his own meant he didn't have as much time to spend with my MC. That felt very real as well. Oswin was very fun to get to know as well. As I set of in, chapter three I think, I was complete invested in reestablishing the MCs friendship with him. He was never going to be a RO I would seriously consider. He is not his brother obviously. But I did feel deeply saddened when I thought our friendship was gone and when I was greatly relieved when he wanted to save our friendship just like my MC. And of course there are the twins. I do love them and really want to see more of them. And did take a minute, but I about tipped over my chair when I realized that, "Gods, they literally named their children after flowers." They are one of those people.
The companions are great two. I love how each of them have their own secret that I am excited to learn about. Zhan was quickly my favorite and found her way into my heart. Duri and Rune have their charms and I would love to find out how those Romances are like, but Zhan is just so adorable. Her secret it one is one I'm most excited to find out about. Also as of right now, I'm beside my self with worry for her. And lastly but definitely not least we have Champagne, the she-wolf and bestest girl. I love her and if any thing bad should happen to her I would surely die. Please do not let anything bad happen to them. or if you do at least give a John Wick route.
The las thing is how please the god of destruction isn't portrayed as irredeemable evil and cruel. I never see that and am so happy somebody else realizes that death and destruction are a natural part of life and how you can this.
I am so happy that you enjoyed it so, dear. I'm glad the relationships can resonate with you as well.
I love your MC's story with the Twinflowers! I love that idea of Willow being a crush. She actually gets some screen time in the coming chapter as well, so that might provoke some feels for your MC. And yes, the Twinflowers are those people, lol. And Willow's family is the same - with trees! The temptation to name their children after birds and bees was unreal.
Chapter 6 will have some big Zahn reveals for you, dear. It's going to be a roller coaster, but I think you'll like it! I'm so thrilled you enjoyed the ROs. It was important to me to tell their stories within the overarching story and not just have some fly-by-night romances.
Champagne is an adorable name, btw, totally her color too!
Our lovely god of destruction will make an appearance at some point in the future (may be a hot minute though). That was also important to me that death being apart of life and destruction also being pivotal to that was represented. Traditional depictions of death and such can be fun, of course, but I like this version where it's all really part of life as a whole. ^_^
