Hi:)

I'm also fairly new to game development(Only 4 jam projects lol) and stumbled upon Trijam for my first actual project! In my experience on learning I made some mini games(like two player tag) for my first projects, and that helped me learn the game engine and basic programming skills.

I would choose a game engine that fits your strengths and focus on creating something first, and it doesn't have to be great--one of my worst mistakes was focusing on creating large-scale projects instead of just smaller practice projects. Trijam is a great place to practice skills & try out new stuff.

Good luck!
