Thank you for detailed feedback!

The free version assumption is very close, as a lot of very vocal people was very much unhappy with us posting the new versions of the game only behind a paywall. But it's the only way we can continue working on game constantly. Without the paywall and our subscribers on Boosty, we probably could work on the game only in our free time, slowing down to one update per half a year and most likely ended the game on first two days.

But no matter how we tried to explain it there's always people who are unhappy and those who constantly tries to get everything for free. And also those who leak our last versions, sometimes breaking it or somehow loosing files from the main archive. This is very irritating, because we were getting bug reports about said missing files.  And at times it were disrupting our team workflow a little bit. After all, getting critique from those who paid for you work is more than acceptable - it's necessary.

Yet getting critique AND unreasonable demands from people who didn't pay for your work, yet somehow feel very entitled to demand something they like to be added into the game is just extremely annoying.

So in the end we decided to post everything we did before the major update that added new battle system mechanics and story chapter into the game. If before that demo included only first day, now it should have enough content to satisfy those who crave game for free and hopefully catch the interest of those who would like to support us and help the game development financially.

Sounds troublesome... 😓

I totally support the paywall; it's a simple reward for a subscription, and the ones most invested in the project would naturally then be the ones to access and play the latest versions, giving the devs useful feedback.. And that's without even considering the finances of development.

I'm sure you guys have made backups and shored up defenses against leaks since then..

When a stranger is rude, try to take it to mind, just not the heart.

In the end, however much of a game developers choose to release for free is up to them.

Since I'm sort of a wanderer with no money, I'll just stop at paywalls; maybe check back in in the future if I think there's a chance there'd be more.. Or maybe when I have money, lol.

I'd say that this much is already more than enough to satisfy my 'craving for a game for free'.

I wonder if a longer demo correlates with more player investment and thus also support.. 🤔

Welp, I'm off to finish playing whatever's left of the demo!
