if you feel you my have shortcomings with the writing on the story, but want to be the sole creative, might i suggest looking for an editor? someone who, rather than giving input on the direction or angle of the story, simply helps you ensure a more cohesive structure. It would be stressed that they arent offering input into the worldbuilding or design of the story, just into the writing and word-choice. That way you maintain the prime crontrol of WHAT is in the story, but can still get help with keeping things consistent.

(of course I am just some rando from the internet who wants to enjoy your story, so feel free to ignore me. lol. just wanted to offer a solution that could maybe help lighten your workload. burnout sucks and yet its biggest ally is ourselves.)

Do whatever you feel is best for you. Hope everything works out!

yeah, that's what I figured is what I need. I want to work alone first when I write chapter 4, but I'll see if I can find an editor to look through it when I'm ready to work with someone again.

thank you for the suggestion and how to go about it, I'll keep that in mind when I bring on an editor eventually!
