I had a great time playing another wonderful gruebite game. It gets kind of addicting and is very fun. I eventually obtained teleport + giant claw and was zipping all over like a mad man. Great game.
Dig dig dig dig dig. Love it.
This was quite fun and I completed it twice. I wasn’t able to actually “die” (can you make enough money by just going in a random line and not even looking for the shiny stuff?) and I did spend a good bit of time just trying to get different cantrips. Upgrading the forge seems to make some spells unavailable, so I wasn’t able to rush to the highest level forge and then get a balanced spell stack. I think the right thing to do is take your time and forge/recycle a lot at each level to see which spells are available and get good values before upgrading. I almost bankrupted myself with Gold Rush, and occasionally dinged a gold patch with it, but appreciated the improved ability to actually aim my digging.
The main UI request I would have is to automatically switch to the Harmony cantrip when accidentally switching to one that is on cooldown. Just trying to dig fast, I basically spammed shift+(2345) to use whatever random power wasn’t on cooldown, and if they all were then I’d get stuck in my tunnel.
Thanks for the feedback! I agree with automatically selecting the harmonic. I've spent a bunch of time thinking about how to make cantrips easy and intuitive to use. And I did err on the easy side, but I did use that as a test for seeing if it was too easy. You shouldn't be able to mindlessly win. I also think the forge shouldn't be tied to gold, since it creates a two opposing forces with no solution: increasing taxes, and finding good cantrips.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for playing!
