I've had a new even pop up recently just before day 40. A ghost (opaque blue frame with skinny limbs and eyes that look like the ATV headlights) has been haunting the base and will occasionally present itself and grab kel, sometimes forcing him into a nightmare. While the ghost hasn't shown itself for a about a day in game, I just want to save my game
That is the Insomnia Demon you are seeing, it is simply just a hallucination that appears when you are super tired that sends you into a nightmare if you don't sleep.
Try typing "debug events" into a console to see what is preventing you from saving. If you don't think you can solve it in any way, you can then type "debug scrape" to remove the save prevention effect.
