TLDR... It feels more like a narrative focused visual novel type, more so than a point and click adventure. This is a demo, but it felt like I read the first half then clicked some but mostly read the second half.
I still kind of recommend as a little sit down read though. I explain more below...
So right off the bat this demo starts with a bit of an exposition dump which I will say I am bias against because get me interested in this world first before you start to expect me to pay attention to backstory but back to the point. It isn't much so don't worry.
When it came to the first bit of interactive gameplay it was pretty much pick a card style, fine, but the problem was that was the only bit of "interesting" interactions you showed in the demo. The rest of the interactions were drag and drop to solve puzzle. So, this aspect was really bleh when it comes to the demo. The trailer shows some cool looking cooking mom sim for cooking, which looks cool even if it only comes up a few times, I wish that was showcased at least once in the demo. (I do acknowledge you were supposed to choose a room that best fits the guest I don't know if I got it right or wrong I'm assuming I got it right during my gameplay but maybe something does happen if you get it wrong. If something does happen in the demo, then that is 2 points instead of just 1).
This demo looks really nice and it's quite obvious that it has its own little style to it. I kept thinking about a web game I played a few years back of a lady with a big pot and 2 peg legs and I wonder if this i... As I was typing this, I checked your game log and yep, The Supper lol. Basically, the visual of this game is really good and make the game itself stand out as well as the game store page.
This demo isn't very long actually it's nice and sweet which actually works in its favor to make me a bit interested to see what comes in the full game. I am a bit disappointed because like I said at the top this demo came across as more of a visual novel with a bit or point a click element tired in at the end vs one of those old-style point and click adventures. To be specific if a demo is supposed to be a small showcase in a way, then from a consumes perspective I was introduces to a new game story through its visuals and narrative, Then I saw point and click adventure on the title and felt that didn't describe what I just did.
Don't take any of this as me not liking the game idea of not enjoying myself during the demo. I actually would def recommend the demo if you read this far. Maybe with next demo put a bit more gameplay favor in it to give a sneak peek of what we will be doing not just what we will be reading/listening to.
