We’re so happy that you liked the art and how it feels “animated.” It was a very careful team effort, from the planning to the implementation, going through all the later revisions that were adjusted again in every test. It makes us really happy that you appreciate it.
We’re also glad that you connected with Fred’s story. We wanted to touch on something a bit deeper, starting from an everyday situation with light humor, and leading to a small nod toward his companions… according to his perception of reality.
That’s why it made sense to us that he would be a koala. That duality of being present but half-asleep at the same time allowed us to explore many layers of the character 😃
So seeing that this message came through, and that the direction of the game worried you at first but you ended up enjoying it, makes us really excited.
We were especially moved to read how you understood the contrast between wanting peace and being selfish.
Goobu had no intention of “saving” anyone. He just wanted to be at peace. And it was that peace that ended up being valuable to Fred.
